TARGETED CELLULAR TECHNOLOGY™

Physician Therapeutics has patented the Targeted Cellular Technology™, which allows milligram quantities of neurotransmitter precursors to enter the cells and produce the required neurotransmitters.

This five component system includes:

  1. A neurotransmitter precursor supplied as an amino acid
  2. A neuronal uptake stimulator
  3. A neuron activator
  4. An adenosine antagonist, such to disinhibit the neuron
  5. An attenuation inhibitor of the precursor response a well known precursor phenomena

This new application of neurotransmitter science is designed to promote the production and release of the neurotransmitters norepinephrine, epinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, acetylcholine, histamine, glutamine and nitric oxide.

Amino Acid Replenishment

There are twenty-two amino acids that are used by the human body. Most of these amino acids can be provided by sugar and fat. There are, however, certain key amino acids that the body cannot produce or can only generate in small amounts.

For these key amino acids, decreases in supply lead to depletion of the neurotransmitters. The shortages of the neurotransmitters lead to the symptoms of many diseases.

For example, acetycholine is the most important neurotransmitter in the body. It controls breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, deep sleep, sexual performance, the immune system and muscle strength.

Targeted Cellular Technology™ allows the Medical Foods to release acetycholine into the system at a controlled rate that replenishes this key neurotransmitters.

What Causes Side Effects?

Many medications, while effective, need to be administered at a steadily increased dose due to attenuation. This naturally increases side effects and/or safety concerns.

A partial reason is that much like disease, medications deplete specific neurotransmitters that are key to bodily functions.

Each Medical Food is formulated to replenish the distinct neurotransmitters known to be depleted by a specific disease state and by the classes of drugs utilized for treatment.

The administration of a Medical Food improves the cellular environment which allows for an enhanced therapeutic outcome with no increase in the serum level of a drug. In fact, over time, it is proven that the actual dosage can be decreased.
